Jill Jantzen

Pianist

Jill Jantzen, a native of Oklahoma, received her Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance from Oklahoma City University, Bass School of Music, and completed her Master's of Music in Piano Performance at the College-Conservatory of Music under the direction of Awadagin Pratt.
 

Jill has been seen on stage in Oklahoma, Kansas, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Freiburg and Hinterzarten (Germany). Jill has performed on the Steinway & Sons Young Artist Concert Series of Kentucky. Other highlights of her performances include being the guest artist for the 2010 Oklahoma Women of Higher Education Conference and giving the world premiere of K’Danza by composer Ken Davies in 2009 at the Composers Society, Incorporated.

As a collaborator, Ms. Jantzen has performed with ensembles of all sizes, which include being the orchestral pianist with the Oklahoma City University Orchestra and the College-Conservatory of Music Concert Orchestra, performing symphonies, choral works, and ballets. Other personal music endeavors include studying violin and conducting.
 

Aside from her classical training, Jill has served as the worship pianist at various churches of all denominations, playing traditional and contemporary music since she was twelve.  Jill was appointed to Richwood Presbyterian Church in 2012.
 

Jill also enjoys teaching. In 2011, she was awarded a teaching position in the secondary piano department at CCM.
By the completion of her Master's degree in 2013, she was awarded CCM’s Outstanding Graduate Assistant, an award of which she is very proud. She currently runs her own private studio. Jill also enjoys running and gardening.
